Rambling

New pot!!! This is part of my make believe or fairy tales series....you can read about it at www.etsy.com/clearcreekdesigns and click on Fairy Tale button.

I leave for Tennessee in the morning!!! Yea!!! I'm taking a class (handbuilding) from one of my favorite potters..Lana Wilson. May have mentioned it before. I will be gone almost a whole week!! It will go so fast....but when I get back...just watch out...I'm designing dishes now. I thought I would never make any sets of anything (because I always hated too-could that be a flaw in my character?) I like one-of-a-kind things..but hey guess what!!? My new designs will be! They will all match but not be the same...to the artsy fartsy folks that will make complete sense!! I hope to be going to the Tupelo Market in August..there I will premiere my new "sets". I'm going to do a whole table of dinnerware.....big stretch for me!!!! I'm so excited (and I just can't hide it). Well, have to go now and put up all my yard sale stuff. I sold a little bit..thank the Good Lord!

The rest of the month I will be teaching and I'm so excited about that too!!!

My new Dishes

Here are some of the new dishes I'm making. I'm so excited about my work for the first time in years! These are the small square plates but I will be doing bigger square ones and big and small round ones. Kudzu and Hydrangea leaf....and probably weeds and any other leaf I can find that looks interesting!! I also have an all new palette of glazes. I was having problems with the old ones so I've been experimenting for the past week. This actual glaze is called waterfall brown. I like how it picks up the colors with light. I'm not making much sense so I guess I will go to bed. Goodnight!

Happy Birthday Debbie Jo Paulik!

Ijust had to shout out a Happy 50th Birthday to my Old Friend in Indiana! :D Love you Debbie! And Kenny Tyler from Hammond Indiana...if you ever read this 50th Happy Birthday tomorrow!!

I had the best day! I worked all day in my shop and got alot of work done but besides that I some of those creative juices started flowing and I finally got something that I've wanted to do but didn't know it until I did it! Does that make sense? Anyway...I posted the pictures above so I could put in out in the universe. This is wet clay..not fired yet but I love it..I had to make myself stop working because I am exhausted...but I have so much more to come! I'm looking for a name to call this body of work...I keep going with fairy tales, fairy dreams, cinderella series(that's for Josie..who wanted to name her new baby sister "Princess Baleia Cinderella Cox(she can't say Princess Leia-from Star Wars). If anyone can help me come up with a name..I might not use it but it would be fun to hear from everyone. I'm looking for a mythical/enchanted type name. You know I never knew 50 could be so fun...so see Debbie..there's hope! :D

Today I'm 50

O.k. I've hit the big 5-0 today. Actually it was alot better than my 25th Birthday...I remember being really depressed because I was 25 and not even married yet! Now here I am 25 years later and I've been married twice! I got to spend most of my birthday with my sweet grandbabies..then my husband took me to diner and I worked most of the evening in my shop..cleaning, trying to get ready for the show Saturday. I have alot of changes this year with the pottery business. It seems to be more business..which is great. My son will be helping me this year as my Studio Assistant. I'm really excited about that because it will free me up to do more work and less everything else.

Potter's Hand is still in process. I'm just waiting to hear from the Lord about what I should put on my website. I'm having business cards printed up and feel lead to advertise it more. So if you know of any ladies ministries, children, etc. that you think would like to have me come and speak and really just minister..please visit my website for my contact info.... www.ccpottery.net

I'm starting to enjoy my new front porch!!! (see picture above)I've been painting and decorating and of course my mother can't stand to see me do that alone so I've had good help and advise from the "Martha Stewart of Fall City". She really did help me alot. Now I can sit on my porch and read my Bible study, drink some hot tea and listen to the birds chirp. It's almost heaven! Anyone who is really jealous of my new spot can come and share it with me at any time!!!! I would love the company.

Front Porch

Today I finally have a front porch that I can enjoy!!! I've wanted to do something to my front porch for years (we've been here 11 years and I'm just now getting it done-ouch!). What is so great about it all is I had all the stuff to do it (gathering a piece here and there over the years) and finally put it all together. I just have to paint everything! I will take a picture and post it as soon as I get all the painting done. I promise it won't be 11 years! I have some of my pots sitting around with flowers and plants in them..and I believe there is a fairy and a bunny, a angel and maybe some other fun stuff will find it's way there!!

Work wise I've been cleaning my shop and trying to get ready for Art in the Park. I've also been working on the Potter's Hand Ministry. It's hard to put it all down-but I will have it on my website soon. I have taken my wheel to various churches and spoke as the Lord directed. This is so close to my heart (and of course Spirit) that I want to be respectful in doing what He has called me to do.

I just have to submit this picture of my youngest grand baby. Her name is Kadence Brooke and she is so beautiful! Not only in appearance but inside too...o.k. I know she can't tell me stuff but I can just "feel" the beauty within her. She is number 5 in a family of 3 other sisters and 1 big brother (he's 2). All her siblings are beautiful so she had to be too!!!
